For the Key Lime Glaze:

  • 1½ cups powdered sugar

  • 2–3 tablespoons key lime juice

  • 1 tablespoon milk or heavy cream

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.

  2. Cream Butter and Cream Cheese: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth and creamy.

  3. Add Sugar: Gradually add the granulated sugar, beating until light and fluffy.

  4. Incorporate Eggs: Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  5. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  6. Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

  7. Add Flavors: Stir in the key lime juice, key lime zest, vanilla extract, and green food coloring if using.

  8. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top. Bake for 75-85 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  9. Cool: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.

For the Glaze:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, key lime juice, milk or cream, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  2. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
