  • 1 stick (113 grams) unsalted butter, at cool room temperature

  • 1/4 cup (50 grams) packed light brown sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt

  • 1 1/2 cups (188 grams) powdered sugar, sifted

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 tablespoon milk, plus more if needed

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

  2. Melt butter in a large bowl and whisk in light brown sugar until smooth.

  3. Add egg, vanilla, and pumpkin puree, stirring to combine.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt.

  5. Slowly fold dry ingredients into wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 22-25 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.

  7. Cool bars completely before frosting.

  8. Beat softened butter with brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and powdered sugar until fluffy.

  9. Add vanilla and milk, mixing until smooth spreadable consistency forms.

  10. Spread frosting evenly over cooled bars.
